A Sparkling Evening for a Worthy Cause: Our Burlesque Student Showcase

On the evening of May 10th, the stage was set for an unforgettable event: our burlesque student showcase. This night of glamour, talent, and empowerment was not only a celebration of our students' hard work and creativity, but also a heartfelt effort to raise funds for Salisbury’s Women’s Refuge. We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generosity of our audience and the dedication of our performers, we raised an impressive £2,173!

Sparkling Performances

The showcase featured a variety of performances that highlighted the incredible progress our students have made, some of which in less than a year of doing burlesque chair dance classes. Each routine was a testament to the dedication and passion of our performers. For many, this was their first experience performing solo, and their courage and confidence shone brightly on stage.

The audience were dazzled with the stunning costumes and captivating routines. From sultry solos to lively group numbers, each performance was infused with personality and flair. It was truly inspiring to see so many women stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing the art of Burlesque Chair Dance with enthusiasm and poise.

An Unforgettable Moment: The Live Head Shave

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was a live head shave performed on stage. This courageous act was not only a symbol of empowerment and solidarity but also a powerful demonstration of the lengths our community will go to support such a worthy cause. The audience was moved and inspired by this brave gesture, which added an extra layer of meaning to the night's proceedings.

The Charismatic Popina Cherry

Our showcase was expertly hosted by the fabulous Popina Cherry, whose charisma and wit kept the audience entertained throughout the evening. With her sparkling personality and infectious energy, Popina ensured that the night flowed seamlessly from one performance to the next, engaging with the audience in between acts and delighting us with one of her well known acts.

A Proud Moment as an Instructor

As the instructor of these beautiful ladies, I was filled with immense pride watching each of them take the stage. Their growth and transformation over the past year have been nothing short of remarkable. It was a feeling out of this world to see their hard work and dedication culminate in such a spectacular event.
