I joined BCD as a dancer in 2017. I went to my first class very nervously on my own. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew I’d found “my people”. There were ladies of all ages, shapes & sizes & everyone was so warm & welcoming. Our instructor talked us through every move & offered alternative moves to those who wanted/needed them. I walked away from that first class unable to contain my excitement for the next class.  

After around 18 months of attending, our class sadly closed down due to health reasons. I missed it so much & there were no other classes around our area. I then saw an advert for the first Southern region instructor course & I knew I had to jump at the opportunity. I qualified as a BCD instructor in December 2019, opened a class in Amesbury, Wiltshire & have been teaching ever since. 

Becoming an instructor was the best thing I have ever done. I have grown a community of like-minded people who have become friends. Every single person who walks through my door is greeted with a very warm & friendly welcome. I pride myself on my inclusivity & make it my mission for everyone to look forward to attending class & growing their confidence & self esteem.  

I have met hundreds of people through BCD who have inspired me to grow as an individual. My fellow instructors have been incredible & helped with so many aspects of running classes & shows. It feels fantastic to be part of such a supportive team. 

I hold regular Workshops & Masterclasses which are always popular & give my class members the opportunity to try out various styles of burlesque through expression & the use of different props. I also host shows & events that include everybody who wishes to perform & backstage assistance opportunities for those who don’t.  

In October 2024, I said a very sad farewell to my class in Amesbury as I embarked on the move of a lifetime to Australia with my family. To my absolute delight, I was able to bring BCD along with me and opened my class in Seymour. 

Although it’s a new class, I already have a loyal group of fellow BCD lovers who are enjoying participating in class as much as I am enjoying teaching them. 

You won’t ever regret joining my class; I promise to make you feel a part of something amazing from the start and we have an awful lot of fun along the way. My goal is always to make every dancer feel as fabulous as my instructor made me feel all those years ago.
