Hi, my name is Violet Moon, and I first discovered burlesque dance as just a one-off routine that I used to do at a mixed-style, dance fitness class that I attended in around 2017/2018. 

The fabulous feeling that it gave me left me desperate to find a burlesque-only class near me, but there was nothing available. 

In 2019, I was absolutely delighted to learn that a friend-of-a-friend was moving to Leicester who also loved burlesque, but as there were no classes in Leicestershire, she had opted to train with Burlesque Chair Dance herself and become an instructor. I then joined her classes and even during lockdown attended her classes over Zoom, relishing in every moment of friendship and confidence that it gave me. I continued attending classes for another 5 years.

Unfortunately, in early 2024 I moved further away from where the classes were based and due to a mixture of circumstances, in December of that year. I made the difficult decision to stop dancing. although I still remain friends with so many of the ladies from the group.

I soon realised how much I missed it and after some encouragement from a couple of friends, I decided to train as a BCD instructor myself and start teaching my own classes. This combines all the things that I love .. burlesque dancing and inspiring and empowering women to get fit, have fun, make friends and embrace every bit of themselves.

As a Level 1 instructor, I want to give people a safe space where they can feel like they can discover who they used to be, who they want to be or who they are meant to be and just don’t know it yet! Then who knows, I could train as a Level 2 and we will do lots more fantastic dances.

I have been lucky to have danced on stage performing in several shows, as a solo performer and as part of a group, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed and would love to be able to give others that buzz of excitement too, so I will be offering one-off Masterclasses as both I, and my dancers, progress.

The BCD routines are taught over 4 weeks, and my classes are £7.00 per class if booked weekly and £25.00 if all 4 weeks are booked in advance. I look forward to warmly welcoming you into the burlesque family.
