Hi there, I’m Rachelle aka Sapphire Sparkles. I joined BCD in January 2023. It was the “new year new me” drive to start doing some exercise that led me to my local class. As soon as I started I fell in love with the routines, my instructor and the ladies in the group.

 

I wanted to do something to improve my health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally, without feeling like I was “exercising”. I’ve never been one for a treadmill or weights. BCD gave me that and more. My instructor helped to give me confidence I never would have thought I would get from the group. And more than anything I was having FUN!!

 

I moved to Spen Valley in June 2025 and was devastated that there wasn’t a group local enough for me to go to, so I decided to contact BCD to start up my own class. As someone who battles with confidence issues on a daily basis let me tell you this was a hurdle for me to jump, but again BCD gave me the support I needed to think actually yeah I can do this. And that’s part of what I want to offer too. Not just a dance class, not just an exercise class, but somewhere for you to come to build your confidence, self-esteem, make some friends and have fun too!!
