I joined BCD as a dancer in 2019. I very quickly felt right at home. I enjoyed performing and noticed the difference in my fitness level and body shape.

After 4 years I was encouraged to undertake the instructor training by my friends and family and also my wonderful instructor who recognised my talent. I decided to do it so I could build my own groups of women who feel empowered and who lift each other up.

I danced as a child but fell away from it in my teens as I explored other hobbies and interests. I returned to dance in my early twenties and haven’t looked back. The thing I love most about being a BCD instructor is honestly watching the bonds between my dancers form as their confidence grows.

Every little win, whether it’s learning a difficult routine or getting up onto the chair to perform for the first time, I am right there cheering them on!

As a dancer, the classes helped me to get my fitness back and achieve the body shape I want. As an instructor, my confidence, creative flair and also my communication skills have grown exponentially.

We have already achieved so much in the last year with six groups having been formed and our first charity show being a resounding success. Next year we have plans to go bigger and better…. Watch this space!

The ladies who dance with us, always feel welcomed and included regardless of ability, we all started as beginners and love to bring new people into the fold. This isn’t just a group of women who dance, we are a community of
women who support each other. We arrange regular activities and social meets out with the dance classes, true and lasting friendships have been formed through these classes. If you’re looking for your tribe…. We are waiting for you, come join us!
