Answer the questions and string together in sentences – simples!

I first joined BCD classes just over two years ago now and became an instructor just over a year ago.

I wanted to become an instructor to give other women what BCD had given me... confidence. I learnt how to love myself again, fiercely, and unapologetically.

 

Before joining BCD I had zero experience in Health & Fitness or Dance unless you count throwing some questionable shapes on the dance floor as a teen. I was nervous at first that I’d not be able to keep up, but everything was made so simple in class and looked so amazing when put together. The constant encouragement from my now boss lady was empowering.

 

One of my favourite things as an instructor is seeing woman walk through the door looking nervous and then watching their confidence grow. My ultimate favourite thing though is the family you create and become a part of. From debates about barm cakes to having a shoulder to cry on, there’s always someone there for you.

 

For me personally, BCD gave me myself back but a better, happier version, and has given me lifelong friends that I class as family.

 

In future, I hope to carry on building an army of confident gorgeous girlies and spread the Burlesque bug as far and wide as possible, and hopefully showing some of my girlies off on stages as we go.

 

Getting up on stage in front of a load of strangers for the first time was one of the best experiences of my life and I encourage everyone to do it at least once. 

 

I implore everyone to come to my classes, or your local one! I promise you won’t regret it. One of the hardest things about our classes is actually getting yourself through the door. Once you’re in, you’re hooked.  What have you got to lose?
